Maintain Fuel for Good Generator Care

Customers sometimes ask us if bad fuel can cause a problem with a generator. We have found that it’s very rare that it comes to that extreme but there are a lot of companies that do not maintain their fuel (do not maintain their generators) so they do run into this problem. It usually results in an engine failure or a stop of the generator while it’s running.

This is because the fuel filters are full, or on the engine side – injectors have failed or the fuel pump has failed.

As we are always saying it’s very important that companies test things at least once a year. With regards to the fuel it’s very important that at least every three years the fuel should be polished.

To the extreme, you may have to draw the fuel out, clean the tank and start with new fuel.
